Problem
GEO-B1-M03-P012 Find Side Ratio from Areas
#12
★★☆☆☆ Level 2 of 5
Two triangles are similar, and their areas are in the ratio \(25:49\). Find the ratio of corresponding sides.
The side ratio is the square root of the area ratio.
The areas of similar triangles are in the ratio of the squares of corresponding sides. Therefore the sides are in the ratio \(\sqrt{25}:\sqrt{49}=5:7\).
The reverse use of the area-ratio rule.
