In right triangle \(ABC\), angle \(C\) is right, and \(CH\) is the altitude to the hypotenuse. It is known that \(AB=25\), \(AH=9\). Find \(AC\).
Use the formula \(AC^2=AB\cdot AH\).
By similarity of triangles \(ABC\) and \(ACH\), \(AC^2=AB\cdot AH\). Therefore \(AC^2=25\cdot9=225\), so \(AC=15\).
After P014, this works as numerical reinforcement.
